292 Fastech Upper Cabinet

Anyone know how the upper cabinet in the 292 cabin is fastened. I think mine has started to loosen a bit. I don't see where or how it's attached to anything. I took a few panels down and still couldn't determine where or what is holding it in place. I contacted formula and they didn't have any 292s being built to look at so I'm relying on the expertise here on this forum.

When I was having trouble removing my stereo Formula sent me a pic of the backside of the cabinet/sink assembly. It looks like it is one complete assembly that they drop in and bolt to floor before putting on the deck. I didn't see any fasteners behind the cabinet.

Could you email me that pic? If you still got it? I'll PM you my email address

Maybe it's just me, but I definitely feel like its looser then it was.

When my 292 was out at Formula the put a bracket on that cabinet as it had also started to drop. Have no idea how they got in there.

hmmmmm

the back of the cabinet is just a piece of padded vinyl. I thought about putting a fastener through the top, from inside the cabinet, up into the headliner as that was the only solid material I could see but was afraid it would pull down the headliner. I'll have to put my thinking cap on for this one it seems.

anyone resolve this or have any more info? My 292's cabinet is loose now as well. I want to evaluate/repair this winter.

thanks!

Few things needs to be done to remove it. You have to unscrew uper finisher trim. Screws are located inside the cabinet. That would give you clearance and you won't scratch the headliner. You have to pop out RH side finisher looking at the cabinet torch the transom. It is attached with 2 plastic clips "Christmas tree"style. There is about 2.5 inch hole that hides the screws to L shape bracket. Mine was cracked ,I made new one from stainless. Remove that. Then remove panel with light switches. To do that I would mark location of the switches, remove them ,then unscrew it from inside of cabinet and under the cabinet. Fish out electrical switches and wires through the opening.
Now fun part starts. You have to remove port side couch cometaly. Screws are accessible between backrest and bottom cushin, hidden in the carpet right under the bottom cushion. You have to fold up v berth cushion and remove few screws in water pump compartment and under cup holder.
Disconnect sink and faucet hoses, remove 3 screws from lower cabinet facing vertically down. That should undo whole cabinet. Upper and lower cabinet are one piece, they are clsrewed together. I know it sucks big time. In the factory they were installed before deck was merged with the hull.
I installed aluminum bracket inside joint section between upper and lower cabinet. That makes it much more rigid.
Have fun !

I looked for it and no luck. It was a couple laptops ago and I didn't seem to keep it. Sorry about that.

I recall the folks at Formula were quick to send it to me when I requested it.
