Formula 242, anybody using 280 k-planes?

Considering ditching the Bennetts and replacing with K-Planes 280 size, anybody done this to 242 and what was your results. I have a 242SS but LS or SS results welcome.
Is it worth the effort (motor, BBC, coming out this week for Alpha to Bravo swap and engine swap) so this would be the time to do.
Thank you for your input.

280's are huge! You would have to be darn careful when putting them down! A couple clicks down on my 336 can almost make it turn.

My bennetts seem to work well the 280`s may be big

Nobody with a 242 running 280 k-planes?

Just because nobody else is doesn't mean you shouldn't try it if they are easily available. My 242 ran out of motor before it ran out of running surface. The bennets worked well for my level of horsepower. I was around 63 WOT and i never felt the need to have longer tabs. Your case may be different though. They came stock on our 336 and change the boats attitute drastically with minimal input. The small single engine race boats run the all the time.

My friend has a 260 Powerquest with Lencos, and they are too small for him. I think he needs 280s, I don't think his boat is much bigger than a 242

I have Bennetts on my 242ls. It runs low 60s.The Bennetts are unresponsive and too small. If my tabs are not all the way down they do nothing. Even if they are all the way down, their effect is minimal. I can push the nose down more with the drive then the tabs.

Not a 242 but a 292 Fastech, which more like a 27' old school Formula in terms of size. Went from Bennett's to 280S K-Planes a year after owning the boat. BIG improvement and much happier with the boat overall, especially running in rough water. I think they would be great on a 242. Plan on having mechanical indicators and taking your time getting used to how they make the boat react. Just don't give too much down tab and you'll be fine.
