EMI Exhaust

i found a good set of EMI exhaust with SS risers and they will be to long to work exiting under the swim deck thru hull in my 84 272 has anyone ever shortened the SS risers? The engines are stock 350's in my boat. The exhaust ports go thru hull at water level .
