270BR Power choice
 

Will be looking to possibly buy a new 270BR and looking for opinions on which engine would be the better performer for this boat: merc 380 (8.2) or Volvo 380 (6.0). Also looking for performance specs on this boat with each engine if anyone has them.

I have a 2005 260 SS with a 496 HO (375 HP) the runs 53-54 mph with a Bravo 3 drive. Not the fastest on the lake but a great package for a sport boat. Parts and service likely more readily available with the Merc package.

Thanks for the reply with the 496 numbers! My 2000 260 had the 310hp 454 - was not as fast as the 496.

Looking for thoughts on the merc 8.2 380 vs volvo 6.0 380 performance.
