Anyone have Pics of whats under a 357 (or similar) cabin step?
Need some help. Looking under the cabin step of a 357. Several loose wires so somethings obviously missing. I believe its the a/c water pump. I'm guessing the thru hull pickup has been capped off and the pump removed. Anyone have any pics of underneath their cabin steps so I can see what its supposed to look like.

I don't have pics, but remember my 87. The original had a separate float switch that operated the bildge pump automatically and there should be a manual switch on your dash to operate it manually which is what I think the extra No. 14 wires are for. Yes, there should be a small sea strainer and a/c pump mounted under there which is the 110 volt feed with the white, green and black wires. You should be able to contact formula and get a wiring diagram to start. Sorry, didn't keep pics of mine.

Thanks for the info. Thats what I was thinking should be there. I've never seen this stuff personally so it'd be nice to see a picture if someone has one.
Just doing some homework right now but trying to plan. I've got to pay off some extra parts that came with the boat before I can put any money into it but I don't want to wait to start figuring out what the plan will be. Anyone with pics or any info to add please do, its greatly appreciated. |
I don't have a 357 but my 311 has a drain that leads all the way to the back . 357 don't have it?

Guess not. Seems to be a sealed compartment with a bilge pump.

That is correct my 292 had a 1" pvc drain from the step to the engine compartment, but not my 357 or 419 fastec. Can't tell you why!

My locker below the step has:
A shower drain box w/sump pump. A pump mounted high on the wall for the A/C. That A/C pump is fed from the thru hull and a sea strainer. A sump pump connected to a float switch for overflow of shower sump and possible water leak in forward cabin. A float switch, above the sump pump float switch, connected to a "high water" warning horn. Drain lines from galley and lavatory sink going to the shower sump drain box. So there is a bunch of hoses and wires going all different directions. |
My guess:
The white and green wires on the left are A/C electrical for the air conditioning pump. Typically a March 3A water cooled type. The wires on the right are for the shower/sink sump pump and high water warning horn. My high water horn is located below the helm beside the engine out buzzers. |
Mine is a 419-SR1 so it is not exact. But it may be close enough to get you started.
I can't post pics, so shoot an email if you are interested. I'm on boat for next couple days. So pics are easy. |
