Need picture of engine stand 271 fastech

I have bought a stolen/recovered 271 fastech 2006 and the thieves have stolen the engine stand so I need a picture what it looks like so I can determine if I have to buy a original from formula or can look somewhere else. /Niklas

very greatful, the engine stand I want picture of is really the one that the engine is resting on that goes across the boat between the L-shaped plates that are boltet to the boat. My engine was resting on a piece of wood under the oil tray and was only boltet in the rear to the inner transom. Please send a picture or two my e-mail is niklas_forslund(a)hotmail.com

What engine is in it?

McNick 03-01-2016 09:50 AM

496 Magnum

So the thieves took the engine mounts, but not the engine?

I thought a 496 would just have the pedestal style mounts as opposed as the cradle that goes under the engine that would be found on the mercury racing motors. Like this:

Or are you talking offshore style like this:

Thats what I want to know, the engine has the pedestal style stands and they are still there but it is whats supporting them I'm looking for, they don't have anything to stand on.

Do you know if the boat came with that 496? If the engine is setup for the pedestal mounts and the boat for the offshore style cradle, then they won't match, and one or the other will need to be changed. The pedestals typically bolt to aluminum L-brackets that are through bolted to the stringers.

I have to check this with formula, I just assumed the boat came with this engine and the ECU on the motor says 2005 so it seems likely, however since the motor was boltet in the rear the transom the motor most likely have been mounted o some stand in the middle also. There are L shaped aluminium plates boltet thrugh the stringers but they are mountet vertical like they would be for a race bracket and this is what confuses me since the engine itself have the pedestal mounts. I shall check with formula, maybe there is som kind of adapter I need.

It sounds like the boat came with the offshore cradle mount. If that is the case it may be easiest to buy the cradle, as it will bolt into both the boat and onto the engine. It is a much stronger setup.
