Quick question 260 SS/502? (2001)
 

Did they offer the 260 SS with a 502? 2001 year

Not very familiar with the older models but my 2005 260 SS is factory powered with a 496 Mag and Bravo 3 outdrive. Very nice boats!

Yes in 2001, the 260ss was offered with a Merc 502 Mag. It would have been a factory package.

Pretty sure the change over from the 454mags and 502 mags to the 496 and 496 HOs by Merc was during the 2001 build year. I had a friend that ordered a 2001 353 with 502s and it ended up being delivered with 496HOs. So it may just depend on what date that build year it came off the line.

Friend of mine had an 01 370SS with factory 496MAG HOs, so that does seem to coincide with that

I'm pretty certain anything built after Jan 2001 was a 496Mag or HO, the salesman handbook doesn't include the 454/502 options in the 2001 book.
