Finally Selling my 1998 271 Fastech What is it worth?

The wife is tired of me having 2 boats so this spring I'm going to sell my Formula. It's a 1998 271. It's been in a fork lift marina it's whole life and under a full winter cover when not used. under 300 total hours on hull. It came with a HP 500 blue motor. I had it rebuilt and converted to EFI last summer. It has the same system that's on the 525efi. It has 35 hours since the rebuild and conversion to efi. I have all the receipts. I added External hydraulic steering and Dana HP 900 billet trim tabs powder coated to match the boat. She runs 80 MPH on 89 octane. Nice cruise at 55 to 60 MPH. Paint and interior are a 9 out of 10. I have a full and cockpit cover. New in 2013. Folks ask if she is new all the time. Not sure what I should list her for. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

How much HP that you're getting 80 mph, what drive ratio & prop size??

I sold my clean 99 271 fastech last season for just under 30. It needed the sunpad vinyl replaced, but other than that, it was flawless. It also had stock 502 MPI power. However mine just barely had 200 hours on it. I think given your hours yours would be somewhere in the mid 30's. Thats just my guess.

It sounds like a sweet boat and mid 30's would be respectable. I guess it also depends on how fast you'd like to unload it. Does it have a trailer? Since I'm browsing similar boats and have been torn between a single and twins, I think high 20's would move it quick. I'm only saying this based on the fact that 303's and now an occasional 312 are in the $30-$40k range also. You will compete with a larger boat and technically could get more for the money. This is all just my opinion as I have bounced between these models. You'll still find someone whose dead set on a single engine boat and we all know a clean Formula will sell. Good Luck!

Can I make payments? :)

In all seriousness, I would say between 28k-33k depending on the overall condition and if there is a trailer included or not. Sounds like a fun ride!

I agree on the 28-33 numbers

I'm guessing you have over 700+ HP because that is what it takes to get that boat over 80mph. Hard to do that with a 525 intake system. Jeff
