242 toggle switches

well wiring up GPS this weekend a couple of my switches broke.. old and brittle I guess.. does anyone know where I can get these or a knock off? All the curcuits work so I think I could get away with just replacing the black part with the red toggle if that's possible? If not has anyone changed them all out with something different that was easy? I hate electrical work

I'm interested in this too. Previous owner installed what I would say as no conforming switches and would like to get back to or as close as back to stock as possible.

I found some at kendor marine. If you're wiring is all on a different kind of switch I found some seadog switches that look the same as stock.

Those switches are actually circuit breakers. Please keep in mind that if you replace them with simple toggle/rocker switches, you'll have unprotected circuits and could cause a fire.

I replaced mine with moisture-resistant toggle breakers. They're not perfect, but will do the job.

Hope this helps.

Are they all breaker switches? I know that is what everyone said about my 311 and that was not the case at all. There was a separate breaker below the switch and a switch. They were hard to get out of there I remember that but it was doable to replace the switch and keep the breaker in place. If you guys can take a picture of what you have and post it we will know quickly what you have.

I don't have my old ones, but on my 242 these were definitely ETA circuit breakers. In fact, I've had a couple trip while working on the lighting project that I had going on back in March.

Has anyone tried bocatech switches? Little pricy as with a total of 9 (what I would need) you are a little shy of $600 but they have a internal breaker and are waterproof.

They look like they'd work well, but they're a little big. The literature states that they require a 3/4" hole. If you're trying to line up everything with the factory labels, you may run into challenges.

Looks like a good solution.

I purchased 7 switches from Bocatech and love they way they look/work. I was rebuilding my dash layout anyway and didnt need to worry about the old placement. As mentioned they can eliminate the circuit breakers and have internal protection!

I'm looking for replacement dashboard toggle switches for a 1989 Formula 272 SR-1. I think used or salvage ones would be fine.
