Yeah, I read some of those problems people were having. Seems like all were with the black foam backing and like you noted, mine is different.

Wow, not what I really want to hear but I guess better to know about it now. If you don't mind me asking, how much was the Latham steering? Did you install it yourself?

That was kind of my plan at the moment and I agree about the tool. Probably just a plastic putty knife with a dull rounded blade.

Maybe around $6000 but was a about 8 years ago.

Latham is nice, but I recall there are others that work just fine for less money. Shop around a bit.

I just looked, $1,600 in parts for the Latham system I installed.

That's not too bad, might be a winter project.

I bought all new isinglass for my 370SS from Ameritex in FL. They are the OEM for Formula. Easy to order, easy to install, plus all my clear stuff is clear and new.

Back piece was $950.00 with screen and access door as original. Took about 2 weeks.

Good to know, pricey though

Hey Doug, do you know if Ameritax can make an OEM replacement for the bimini? I think I'm going to need one in a year or two.

Ameritex can make any of the canvas, they have all the patterns. Contact them at [email protected] they are very helpful. You'll need a canvas person to install the snaps or buy a good snap tool and do it yourself. I spent two evenings fitting my snaps and it looks and works like new, the snap tool has been pretty handy, I've replaced snaps on a couple of other pieces of canvas on other boats. You can get a total replacement quote and it will list each part number including all the connector pieces.

I ended up buying this boat and I'm want to fix the headliner. I heard back from Formula and they currently use a product called K-Grip 1550 and they would have used something similar in 2005 to attach the headliner. This product is only available in bulk and not available in a simple aerosol can. Looking at the company website they do make a product in aerosol can called K-Grip 707, does anyone have experience with this product or can recommend something for this application?

Congrats on your new purchase! Do you have any car interior guys in your area? They can probably take care of that for you fairly quickly.
