Congrats! I think i saw that boat listed. Picked it up in Jersey right? Good luck with it.

RGPIII 07-17-2016 08:54 PM

yup picked her up last night in Jersey. trying to see what the boat looked like from the factory. looks like someone changed the paint on it at some point.

CBlakeNS 07-17-2016 09:03 PM

The boat was probably produced as a no graphics boat and looks like someone designed their own.

The reason I ask is that the rear section where it's blue is vinyl that covered up the teal. I'm in the process of cleaning the boat up and it's coming off, took the teal paint with it. Which is good and bad. I'm taking my buffer down today and seeing how well it's painted. It might be back to all white.

Congrats!

RGPIII - Congrats on the new ride! Looks real nice and clean.

Any idea what kind of performance you'll see out of the 502's?

racinfast002 07-18-2016 10:49 AM

I love my 312. Nice boat man! Congrats!

I've had my do 76 mph down the Niagara River with 502's!
Two people and 1/2 tank gas.

chrisvr6 07-18-2016 11:24 AM

Congratulations. I'm also looking for a 312.

I have very little seat time. best I've seen with the 32p bravos has been 72 mph without trimming up (have to rebuild a drive cylinder). was at about 4400 rpm. 4 grown men on board and 1/2 tank of fuel.

Not sure what your budget is going to be like, but I'm considering letting mine go. My wife and I are looking at moving to a new home and I need to free up some capital.

RGPIII 07-18-2016 03:13 PM

anyone know the oil pressure gauge size off hand?

That's real nice. We boat in the Niagara also (my brother and me.). Love that area. We'll be up there in August for the poker run on Erie/Niagara. He keeps his Skater 30 at East Pier Marine, and has been working with Chris at Bow and Stern on prop selection for his boat. Maybe we'll see you around. I always liked the classy lines of a Formula. My brother previously had a 353, and a 242 before that. Te Skater is a TOTALLY different kind of boating, but the Formula is good at many things. Very comfortable too. I would consider getting a 292 or a 312 myself if the right one comes along. Prefer the big blocks in the 312. The 353 is just a little out of reach at the moment, but I can dream.... :-)

Wow, that's real good. I wouldn't have thought the 502's would swing a 32p prop. Is it a 3 or 4 blade?

Formula uses a weird ratio drive. I think they are 1.65's but don't hold me to that. My boat has teagues and 1.5 ratio and only spins 30's

Congrats on the 312, you'll love it! Do you think you'll ever bring her back to NJ waters for a weekend or so? Our 7th Annual Formula Rendezvous is September 3-4th, Labor Day weekend. Still leaves you with the 5th to be back boating on your home waters if you wanted. Let us know.

Yes it is the 640 model Garmin. That was installed this winter. It seemed to be the best fit for our dash set up. I've cleared up my inbox so I should be able to receive PM's now.

have you had much seat time with the garmin, how is it with showing the depths in the areas we boat? i used to have a 7 inch Lowrance hds on the checkmate and it was very clear and easy to see and use.

Honestly the visibility kinda sucks...the angle at which I have it mounted makes it some what difficult to see unless I lean forward....will configure better mount for it in winter time...for now its terrific. Typical Garmin...tons of info and very easy to use.
