Looking 353 600's

Anyone know of any for sale? Not for me for a friend.

PM or call 616-450-0261 thanks!

136 views and no leads? Looking for a well taken care of one. Looked at one sunday that needed some TLC

Apexwarrior 08-09-2016 05:47 AM

I think that's a pretty rare combination, which may be why you're not getting responses. Much easier to find a 353 with 525's.

It's surprising to me that Formula would even offer it given their focus on quality and the weight of the hull. A 353 with 600's is right at the max hp rating for Bravo XR's.

VoodooRob 08-09-2016 05:55 AM

Might be easier, and less expensive, to find a nice clean 525 353 and bolt on whipples and build the drives.

Apexwarrior 08-09-2016 06:01 AM

Which is exactly what I did...

Car Biz 08-09-2016 08:33 AM

Thanks for the help guys. He might go that route.
And it is a rare pkg.

the yellow one

That yellow one in the "Voltage" graphics looks like a pipe dream price. Way to close to new price.

A new 353 will be in the $300k plus territory, I know for a fact talking to a recent owner of the Ilmor small block 353. The 600 SCI boat is asking $149,000 and maybe a little strong but no where near the cost of a new boat. Good, clean 353 525 boats sell around the 100k mark give or take.

You've been boatless for too long, when are you replacing the 311?

Funny my wife has been bugging me about that!!!!

Maybe next year. Kind of want to go the darkside and do the cruiser thing.

endeavour32 08-11-2016 05:11 PM

If you're going that route, I'd get one of the newer Formula SS models. Best of both worlds. I never thought I would say this, but I really like their large bowriders especially with the FX package.

mthammer 08-11-2016 09:18 PM

Bernie at marine unlimited in nj has one

Only kicker is I need an aft cabin. I think a 37 is the smallest to get that and I want to stay 34 and under. BUT they are very cool!

Dahlilama 08-13-2016 04:25 AM

There is a 2000 382 fastech on Craigslist in toms river NJ. twin 500s. 127 hours. Asking 60k. I don't know anything about it but that seems like it may be a good deal. Think it says needs some paint work. Figured I'd share it in case someone is looking. I could be wrong but I thought those brought more money

richD 08-26-2016 09:27 AM

I have a 2008 353 with 600's. Platinum graphics, A/C, smartcraft and about 150hrs. Lift kept at my house in NJ. 50/50 on selling. Depends on the price offered.

never has run it full WFO only ran it once and the big lake was rough says he won't run it again til next year. I think rich told him it ran mid 80s

VoodooRob 09-29-2016 02:47 PM

It should run a little better than mid 80s, our old 353 with 525/ITS ran 82-83 with some 84 in there. With 600s/ITS should be 87-89 if everything is set-up correctly, and props are straight and clean. That was the info from a few I ran across before buying our 525 boat 3-4 years back.

Joe308 09-30-2016 04:09 PM

Does ITS make any speed difference or the same as Bravos on boxes? Do you know what props are on the 600 boat? Thanks.

VoodooRob 09-30-2016 09:57 PM

In doing all the fine tuning and research on our 05 353 525s w/ ITS, ITS or another brand of box helps speed 3-5 MPH on the 353s when dialed in. For example got to compare an 08 353 525s without ITS to ours side by side running during a poker run. The 08 topped out at 78, same props and comparable hours on engines, that day I was running 83. I think the 5 MPH might be on the high end, there is a definite speed advantage with boxes on the 353.

Joe308 10-02-2016 09:11 AM

I have copies of several Powerboat magazine tests on the 353 with various versions of the 502 and I think all but the carb HP500 ran over 80 according to Teague. I was getting 79 with the carb version using boxes and non labbed Bravo 30's before doing the motors over. Couldn't find anywhere in the tests where they stated whether the test boats had boxes though. To me the top speeds reported seemed a bit liberal, although the boat Formula supplied for testing could have had a light layup or raised X-Dimension. The older tests also only used speedo and radar, where the newer ones use GPS. The radar numbers were always a few mph higher for some reason. Many variables!

Dusten said that it has 5 blade 32's and he thought that was a little too much.

D2HP 10-17-2016 07:45 PM

So this boat went from NJ to Mich to Calif? Awesome boat best of luck to the new owner, 600s would be awesome in a 353.

Yep, they shrink wrapped it today and it will be loaded on a 48' flatbed trailer tomorrow and off to SoCal. I should have it next week. Can't wait!
