Then again maybe 454's in the 272 is a waste of money. Just not sure I'd get much for these 454's if I went bigger.

What is your current 272 powered with and speed? I see its an 86, so 350s and alphas?

You are going to need 700-750 hp to run higher than 80 so it will cost an arm... And a leg!!!

mine ran 63 with 485...
search for bob barker's tread on his fast 357 for some orher info but i sure wish you many more mph very as little hp and $ increase! |
Nice find and cool boat! I highly suggest you go through those drives this winter (before putting a lot of hours on them) If they were not taken care of and you spin a bearing or wreck a shaft you are going to have a fun time finding spare parts. What are you running for props? Are they short or long shafts?

Props are 3 blade not 5, they don't have a lot of numbers on them but is 17x24L a thing? not sure on long shaft or short |

I would also drain the oil in each drive and replace with new. They only take about a quart each! I just completely rebuilt my kaama's this winter so I am very familiar with the components that make them tick! Let me know if you have any questions!
