moving a 400SS to San Diego from Fla

So I have contacted a few boat haulers, some will not return my call when they find out the move is to San Diego. I guess they cant get a return load? One guy wanted to haul it on a 3 Axle aluminum 382 trailer :bong:
So I'm sure someone has a rig for a 400SS sitting around that would like to have it earn its keep.
Thoughts? Road trip?
Thanks

Thanks, Pat was a great help. Its way out of his "circle" but made some great suggestions.

I have a trailer for my 400ss and a driver who can make the haul. But its going to cost a lot more than beer, maybe your too cheap which is your issue.

fossil fuel 10-14-2016 08:52 AM

Thanks for the reply. And Cheap is not me. The mileage from Ohio would be nuts unless your rig is in the south somewhere. Ohio to Fla keys to San Diego back to Ohio even at $3 a mile would not make sense. Probably would be a 15K move? Thoughts? We may make the return trip back up the east coast to Canada next summer. Then it would really work if we ended up in Ohio.

How about running it to Mississippi River and seeing if you can get it hauled from there to SD.

fossil fuel 10-14-2016 10:27 PM

Thought about running to Galveston but if we keep it there we would like to do the east coast again

alindquist 10-15-2016 08:32 AM

you could drive it up to the panhandle, sell it to me then you don't have to worry about it.

Take the trip .... you'll never forget it ...

fossil fuel 10-22-2016 09:52 AM

We did. We brought the boat from Detroit. 4 months exploring all the way. We would like to maby go back up again. Also thinking about up the middle of the country. Not sure but were kinda leaning to back up the coast to Canada

offthefront 10-22-2016 10:51 AM

Dang I'd like to do that .... looked at cruisers once up in Minnesota.... looks to me you could bring it down via missippi river ....

fossil fuel 10-22-2016 12:43 PM

Either way. The Erie Canal-Hudson river-Chesapeake-Roanoke-Charlston-Savanna-St.Augustine-Miami Seemed more interesting and historic. By water its extremely different than via motorhome or car.
