Not really. Pistons showed up 2 weeks ago. I dropped the flywheel off this week so they can get it all balanced. I plan to get a fitting and hose on the oil pan this week for easy clean oil changes. Been busy focusing on building the cab boat before it gets cold.

Found that with nothing more than re tapping the hole this fitting worked just fine. Put plenty of rtv on the threads, under the washer, and on the inside.

did you use hi temp silicone? How far above the inside of the pan does the fitting protrude? You can get half couplings from a hydraulic supply house with the proper thread and counter bore face for the o ring to seal. Vescor/ LDI or DMIC should have them. The Motion Industries shop in Pensacola might have onr.

Yes it is hi temp rtv silicone. The threads do not protrude into the pan. It is nearly flush. I have 7 different hydraulic shops that I deal with at work and no one could get a fitting that was 1/2"×13 so I just used this. It sat for 5 days in the shop with hydraulic oil in it and no leaks. Obviously that wasnt heated or vibrating like the engine will but I have no doubts it will be sealed up just fine. I will likely put a hose on it with a male #6 jic fitting for easy draining.

No real updates other than it's as snug as a bug in a rug under all 3 of its covers.

It's been hard to find motivation to fool with it between rain and playing in this thing my buddy got a few months ago. Planning on a tuna trip Saturday night/Sunday.

Got to gander at the short block last night. Gave them the oil pan and got the intake. Have a friend of a friend bead blasting and clear powder coating it. 1st attempt so we will see how it turns out.

It has a somewhat red tint to it for some reason. But all in all I'm happy with it. We will see how it looks all assembled.

Weather is going between cold and bearable daily so I decided to hold off a little longer on install. The engine is sitting safely at my friends shop out of the elements.
