382 Fastech Stringer system

Does anyone know when Formula changed the stringer system on the 382? I am looking at a 97 and the stringer system is the old one even though it's a stepped hull. Just wondering how inferior it may be to the new system. Is it just a weight issue or is the hull with the new system much stronger?

Anyone?

I was talking to some one that is very knowledgable about these things and he said that the old system was better (his opinion). I think that the new system was designed so that they could build the boats faster (production wise) and lighter. It is just a new vs. Old technology thing. If the boat serveys well then I would not worry about it. I mean really has Formula ever built a bad boat :D:D

Audiofin said it all. Doesn't matter how it was built or when it was built,if Formula built it you have no worries. For the record I believe some early 97 step 382's were built with the old system until they built the new grid mold, but it doesn't matter, cause it's a Formula, just my opinion as a dealer.
