WTB- 312 w/ 454 mags or 502
Hello all
Wanted to know if anyone knows of a 312 fastech for sale. I'm looking for a very clean (I'm picky) boat with 454 mags or 502. I've been searching but have not seen much right now. Also, where are are some sites to check. I know more than likely, I will be traveling out of my state of Fl to purchase. Thanks |

Formula 1 , sounds like a plan. I am familiar with the 312on the west coast but really prefer the 454 mag. or 502 motors.
Thx |

Thx for the info.
Agreed, Yup scam. |
get the 502's or a newer 496 one you will not regret
|
I have read mixed review about the 496 motors. Does the 496 come standard with forged internals like the 502 and 454 mags?
I think I have seen in the past 496 and 496 HO, or are they the same. |
Saw this one yesterday on the local Charlotte Craig's list. Listing is very vague and only one pic, so I don't know if it's a good prospect or not. I feel like I've seen this boat out on the lake, but know nothing about it otherwise.

Thanks I will look into this. They don't seem like they want to sell it with limited information.

There is/was a1995 303 in North Idaho. It is in an estate. Big blocks. Around 200 hours. Silent thunder exhaust. Eagle triple axle trailer. It looks like it has been inside most of it's life. I have pictures that a dealer sent me. In the pictures, the owner even jacked up the trailer to keep the weight off the axles. A friend that helped me find my 292 wondered if I knew of anyone looking for a boat like this. Send me a message with an email address if you are interested. A dealer in Portland has provided me with the info. They are asking 40K or best offer. It is beautiful, but is definitely 90's colors.

Feel free to post a pic always curious about garage gems
|
Thanks for the post on the 303. But, $40k is a bit optimistic for a 1995, garage queen or not. Old hull design and probably a bunch of seals that are all dried out from lack of use. A decent 312 should run between $30-40k.

I wouldnt shut it out, would i was in the same position a few years back, wanted a 312 but that 30/35ish number was getting me high hours or 310hp's neither i wanted, so i bought the nicest boat i could with what i could afford, even if it was slightly overpaying, 303 is a quick boat all thing considered, mine has 502's and have seen 80 a time or two, always 74mph ;o)

https://charlotte.craigslist.org/boa/5951984953.html Ran with him during our last fun run. Good guy, i just think he has time to come down often enough. Boat will run out 75 mph plus I think it has a trailer too |

Thats a sharp 303 88242LS! I should be heading over to the east coast of Florida to check out a 303 with 454 mags in it tomorrow. After running the Bayliner yesterday on a super busy boating day, I'm ready to get my mojo back! I have
desperately missed my 292 since the day I sold it almost eight long years ago. I got a sweet deal on this Bayliner just to get boating again. Even though she sure can handle the waves, she sure is short on power. However, I do like carrying two five gallon jugs of fuel to the dock and instantly I get a half tank of fuel and a half day of boating!!!!! |
thanks we love it!

Not sure if you're part of Passion for Powerboats or Powerboat Swap Shop on facebook, but there's a 1999 312, twin 500 efi/hydro steering/k planes, that was just listed. I think has around 280 hours, the boat was for sale in VA two summers ago. As I recall, the motors were transplants out of a salvage boat.
|
Thanks Gbuttion,
I will take a look |

saw that boat, so I take it that it's a saltwater boat with engines from salvage?
I would definitely reach out to them if you want to get to the bottom of it, as you know from you search, finding that kind of power is rare. That should definitely be a high 70's boat any day of the week. Here is the link to the thread, their website link is posted within, and of course you can get there user name and message them if you desire. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...-progress.html |

Here is a screen shot of it. The owners number is listed it in. |
wow that's nice, but out of my price range for a 312. There are 353 and 382's for that kind of $$.
|
Yup, agreed. At that price, I found myself looking at 353. Not to mention the added maintenance for those motors. Also, read that those motors only last 500 -600 hrs. Is that true?
|
We had 454Mag Mpi's in our 01- 29 Outlaw. Great motors. A friend took it when we got the T/S. It has over 1200 hours and still runs like a top. Never been opened. all freshwater. 25 hour oil changes.

Once i'm done with mine, I'll be looking to upgrade to a 382. Probably after this season. Two brand new HP transom assemblies, less than 120 hours on Wazzup racing fully rebuilt 502's, stainless marine exhaust, brand new water pumps, starters, all new plugs, wires, cap, rotors, and fresh paint just done on the engines two weeks ago. New interior, Lumitec under water lighting, JL audio sound system.
