96 232ls

Howdy all! New to the powerboat segment but not new to boats. I really want a 242 LS but finding a decent one just is not gonna happen. Chased down 4 so far and junk. Found a 232 LS 454 Mag, Bravo 3 under 200 hours. Immaculate. What are the groups thoughts on mid 90's Formula boats, particularly this model?

i just bought a 242ls this year and there is a 232ls at my dads marina in Pittsburgh that's for sale. It may even be the one you are looking at. It is for sale and has low hours the guy never drives it. I can tell you this of you like the size of the 242 the 232 is about 3' smaller. Idk how the 232 will ride but im sure you wont be disappointed if you buy it.

I was looking a 232 before I got my 242. Like stated above obviously it is a smaller hull, but if I'm not mistaken the cockpit area is about the same size the cabin area lost the room. Someone may correct me on that, but I absolutely love the 242. Only way I would part is for a larger maybe 311 but then it's twice the headache with engines and drives. If you want a 242 hold out there will be one come up for you. If you can settle with a little smaller go for the 232 if it's in good shape.

Mid 90s aren't sought after as much as the late 80s early 90s models. 242LS in my opinion is one of the most sought after by Formula owners. Seems majority of the owners I've met all started out in a 242 model and upgraded over the years. Unless your on a small lake or river, the 232 is too small a boat for any type of rough water. Also if your over 6ft tall your going to feel cramped. I also personally prefer bolsters over bucket seats and the zero effort throttle controls over the side mount. These are all opinions though. Only one that really counts is yours.
