Opinions on price for 1987 272 SR1. See pics

Hi everyone
This is my first post. I've been thinking about getting back into boating. I found a 1987 272 SR1 for $10000.00. Just want to get a general idea from the pics if this seems like a good deal. Mind you I haven't looked at the boat yet. This is what I know. Supposedly rebuilt short blocks 2 seasons ago with about 20 hours on them. Rebuilt out drives also with 20 hours. Twin small blocks with alpha drives. Comes with float on trailer and also comes with swim platform which is currently not installed on boat. I want to take a look at it. Looking at the pics looks like it needs some paint work on the right side which I can do myself. Looking at the one pic of the cockpit interior not sure if they ever came with that color scheme from the factory or if maybe it has been redone in white and gray?? I would plan on getting the boat surveyed to make sure all is good with transom, stringers, and motors and drives. Basically looking for advice and opinions from everyone here.
Thank you in advance.

So apparently I’m an idiot. I can’t get the pics to post. Many people here said use photobucket so I tried to post and link to it but the forum won’t let me. Any ideas??

My first question is where is the documentation for the drive and motor rebuilds. If provided, I would say its worth 10k all day long even without seeing it.

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I was thinking but haven’t in the boat world for a while. I wish I could put the pics up here

I agree with racinfast002. BUT, what you have to ask yourself is, are you ready to do some work to it if necessary? Also, to make myself feel better, I would always add up the big parts (like the trailer, motors, drives etc) and see how close to$10k that gets me in case I might get "stuck".

I have thought of that. I can pretty much fix anything but don’t want to spend all my time fixing a boat. My last boat was like that. I don’t mind typical issues but want to spend most of my time enjoying the boat. That’s why I have decided to definitely get a survey done on any boat I’m interested in. I know that an older boat is more susceptible to issues

Does anyone have any advise on how to post pics. I've tried attachments and tried photobucket but it keeps saying I can't post attachments or links until I have 10 posts? Well at least now I'm getting close to 10 posts trying to get pics on here

Most people are going to facebook, passion for power boats, to post pics. Its hurting offshoreonly big time.

Photobucket used to be the way to post pictures, but I guess they got tired of providing this (useful) service for free. Now they charge $400 a year for the privilege!

Becone a paying memebrr here, and you’ll be able to post pictures. It’s not that much money at all, and supports the site.
