Looking for 2006-2012 400 SS with Volvo Diesels

Anyone has any leads on boats that are not listed on the typical sites? Preferably freshwater with hardtop and under $225k. Thanks for your help.

Advantage 03-08-2018 09:11 AM

Okay, found a boat. Had a survey done and looking to get a few things resolved but no showstoppers. A big thank you to alindquist on this forum for helping me through the process. Looking to close on it in the next week or so. Will send pictures later.

Sydwayz 03-08-2018 09:51 AM

Is it the one in Northern Virginia, outside of DC?

Advantage 03-08-2018 10:10 AM

No, that wasn't the one. Not sure I am familiar with that boat. This one is a 2007 with 340 hours with the Ralph Lauren package. I wanted diesels and the hardtop and found that in this boat. I really wanted a 2009 or newer with the updated interior, dash, and the rear bench seat but this was just too good of a deal to pass up.

By the way, Formula quoted me over $15k for the rear seat.

Sydwayz 03-08-2018 10:14 AM

Roger that.
The one in NoVA has apparently been sitting dormant on blocks for a couple years, and shows weather age, but only has 100 hours on it. While it's still under the owners name, he's supposedly left it up to the bank to weigh offers, and they want book value which it needs a fair amount of cosmetic work.
thp500s /Russ here on OSO went a looked at it as he's shopping as well.

Good luck with your pursuit!

Advantage 03-08-2018 10:23 AM

Thank you! Looking forward to a good summer on the water!

The one in destin? Not much for freshwater 07 diesel hardtops available.

I looked at it back in Nov. Was trying to make a deal but found an 08 in dallas that I bought.https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ac7677e4d8.jpg

Advantage 03-15-2018 07:56 AM

Good looking boat and great colors. Did it come with a trailer? And what sort of power?

Wilks 03-15-2018 07:02 PM

No trailer. VP 370’s. Around 380 hrs

Advantage 03-16-2018 08:48 AM

Nice! Any issues with the VP's or drives? Any advice you can give me? And, lastly, what sort of top end to you get out of her?

fossil fuel 03-17-2018 11:55 AM

Is that a photo of the top speed? You should have G8 props from the factory. Im seeing 3550 rpm at 49 MPH? Is the volvo speedo not connected? My older speedo will not work with my new 370 package. I may look to a livorsi to read off my NEMA output from the raymarine chart plotter

Are the G8 props more efficient and therefore yield a higher top speed? A better midrange? How do you know if you have the G8 props or not? And what sort of top end are you seeing with your 370s? Thanks for your feedback.

Wilks 03-18-2018 09:04 PM

49 was top speed. Props are on spec sheet. Boat is new to me so can’t say much about it yethttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ba58581cb.jpeg

Awesome boat! Enjoy the summer! Let's report back after we've both had a chance to use them. Also, are you keeping yours on a lift or doing bottom paint?

Wilks 03-20-2018 07:00 PM

Advantage 03-21-2018 10:54 AM

Wow! That's an awesome setup and it's covered. 99% of marinas in MN do not let you put lifts in them. And I really do not want to bottom paint this boat but don't have a ton of options.

Move South :cool-smiley-027:

Wilks 03-21-2018 06:20 PM

I know a couple that makes the trip from Rochester to LOTO to go boating.

Did you get the deal done on the 07 in Destin? I seen that Neil took listing down.

dsmawd350 04-03-2018 07:00 PM

An 08 with diesels was listed today on fb

Yes, we now officially own that boat. We were in Destin last week and got a chance to use it over the weekend. It was really fun cruising the Destin Harbor and hitting a few other areas.

I just bought one but my friend is also looking for a 400 SS with hardtop and diesels. That boat looks really clean. I bet is sells pretty fast at that price.

Redneckcustoms13 04-04-2018 02:17 PM

Are you keeping the boat in destin this summer or moving it north?

Having it transported up to MN either late April or early May. Just received 4" of snow last night, ugh!

Redneckcustoms13 04-04-2018 09:45 PM

Ahh. If it were still here on June 1st-2nd billy bowlegs is held right where you were the other day. It is a blast. I will be there for sure. Only saw a few formulas last year. Most PC. 1 i believe 353 that sounded great.

alindquist 04-05-2018 06:05 PM

He couldn't handle bowlegs!!! But I'm there every year...

Agreed, he priced that one to move quickly.
He should spend a little and put it on a Boats.com site and it would get more attention. Probably sell it for $10-20k more considering how fast these are selling now.

Yeah, agreed. I am glad I went with the diesels. No smell, quiet (except the turbo spool is pretty cool), and the torque is amazing.
