Mounting a Flat Screen in a 353?

Wondering if anyone has mounted a flat-screen in the cabin of a 353 and has some good install tips?

I'm guessing one could mount a TV to the Mirror, I believe it's plexiglass? Can't figure out how to what's behind it and if it could hold a 24-30" screen? I see Formula is installing them in that location from the factory.

The next task would be getting power over from the PORT side cabinet. Is there an easy way to fish the wires over thru the headliner or under the cabin floor? Not clear on the access for either.

I can run video thru my FUSION radio.

Any tips or pics would be awesome.

Thanks!

Call Formula? They would tell you where the reinforcement is in the bulkhead and what to use.

Typically I do, haven't yet as my thought was their wiring isn't possible for this. The head enclosure is a pre-formed unit and is not friendly to work around as I found out after paint (re-attaching the clean required a large hole to be removed.

I was mainly wondering if anyone took the cabin mirror off - what kind/thickness of wall was behind it?

Eric, I know I have seen a thread on here about a flat screen install on a 353, but did a quick search and couldn't find it. I found some pics from axapowell in the Upgrades to your Formula! What have you done?

Hopefully these links work.

Thx Dave!

Looks like the toughest part of it is routing the wires

There is some insight on this one - https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...placement.html

Sounds like the worst is pulling the glass off the wall in the head.

Eric,
Hope the thread D2HP shared helps you...good luck.

Thx Chris,

I was wondering if i could simplify the process?

Can I drill thru the mirror, into the wall for locating the mount? Then 5200 the mount to the mirror? I thought the mirror is plastic?

Any pics of how you ran the power/HDMI wires? I know I can get them around to the helm, but then getting to the cabinet is a mystery

Eric,

i have zero pics ...sorry. Follow exactly the threads of AXA....there’s no other way of doing this. I assure you that Dave spent countless hours configuring the proper most efficient way of completing this task. Wish I could give other insight but the hard work has been done. Follow the set plan and you’ll be fine.
