1986 242LS 454 bravo
hey guys anyone give me a good number for an 1986 242 formula ls with a 454 and a bravo? looking at one again today and it really has good guts but the back sun deck is tough and the back seat seams are popped. both fronts are in good shape. the dash is peeling a bit and the cuddy closure top is missing. trailer needs tires also. boat has 454 with corsa exhaust and all gauges work. motor has about 525 hours on it. (replaced original wasn't winterized properly) the exterior has a few scuffs but still looks to be in good shape. maybe a couple new lower stripes. other than that decent exterior. he is asking 8000 let me know what you all think. thank jason

Is there a trailer with it. You say bravo drive? Sounds a little rough around the edges
|
If it is a Bravo they replaced the Alpha., 1988 was first Bravo 454/330 Formulas.
|
yes it has a trailer, bimini, and cover, it does have a bravo and was replaced.

If it is an 86 it did not come with that set up. Someone put a bravo on it. It is quite a bit of work to do. Even still if it's done right and has no rot in stringers/bulkheads I wouldn't place it at 8k. If that boat has been left out enough to rot the upholstery that bad I would almost be expecting the stringers, the bulkhead behind and in front of fuel tank to be rotted. Sorry to say but it is what it is. If you want to fix that stuff it's a big job. Not worth it in my opinion unless you have a sentimental reason.
All of that said, if it checks out great. If it does not there are plenty out there in the 10-15 range that have been well cared for and worth the asking price. |

You may have to have a minimum post count to be able to post a picture. Post a link to it.

Yes thia is the boat. |
If they have records of replacing all of that I would say it is priced very fair if it is as nice as the pictures suggest.

do you know if there is any threads of this boat when the previous owner was working on it. Would be cool to see what all he had done. |
My buddy Tony owned that boat. I hooked him up with that motor. The boat is pretty solid. seemed to always run well. I really liked the exhaust tips. Runs about 50mph.
