Fastech fuel Cap ....
Anyone know if Fastech type cap floats or sinks? .....anyone have one available ? Thanks ......m

Call Formula, they sell them. They are odd threads, tough to find a stainless one that fits the treads of older models.

Wow, somehow I lost my cap off of my 1999 Fastech 312. I bought one off of ebay, it does not fit, mine has slightly larger threads, and finer threads, I emailed formula, they told me the supplier of the cap I bought from ebay was actually supplied by them, Formuala, and they could not help me because they did not have a fastech there to look at!!
So I am in need of either a cap or the thread size so I can find something that will work. |
Boating rule 1
Anything that falls overboard sinks faster than you can grab it. The more it costs, the faster it sinks. Only two exceptions: life jackets/cushions and/or empty beverage containers!!

The caps are on eBay all the time . Jeff wurl |
I went to West Marine and found a matching thread, in a stainless cap, but it was for waste (bigger size capo). I had a machinist machine it down to fit.
I didn't care for the plastic one, but don't have it as the previous owner lost it. |
The caps that are for sale on Ebay did not fit my 1999, Fastech 312, formula supplies the caps that are sold on ebay, and Forumla, via email, had no answer. And yes mine is original. The opening, was 1.85 inches measured with an inside caliper, or 1-17/20, obviously an odd size.

Its a 2” fill. the problem is the thread pitch, they are not standard. |
