Winter's comming

Well for some of us at least. Does any one know if external hydraulic stearing will fit under the silent thunder platform? It seemes that the cylinders would hit the platform if the drives were trimmed up for trailering. I believe that the cylinders are to be mounted at the drive shaft centerline according to Imco. I want to put a system on over the winter. I need to rebuild my transom assy. as well, have any of you done this what does it take? Next year I want dead on steering, the boat was a little lose at times.

Some of the systems that I have seen will hit the swim platform. My buddie's Laythem set up does hit on his 35 footer. Not bad but it does just hit it as it gets to the top. You can adjust your trim limit switch so that it will not do that as long as they are still hooked up.

Rebuilding the transom assemblies is not the hardest thing in the world. I just did mine and it was more time consuming then it was hard.

Mopower,
I bet you have been looking at some real steering with all that big HP comming. :D :D

Jon,
Were you able to do it from the outside of the boat? I see that you have to pull the motors to actualy remove the transom assy. I do not want to pull the motors this year. t0o much other stuff to do. By the way these are bravo 1. I want to do it this year because the drives are off to be painted.

By your screen name you must be in the audio bis. If you are what do you think about Kenwoods Music Keg this seems like a good alternitive to a cd changer. No skipping under way. What do you think? I have never used any of Kenwoods stuff before.

RUSS , Yes .
Just getting ready for "plan B" if necessary:D

Russ: I had both motors out of the boat when I did it. I took the inner plate off and repainted that as well so I am not sure if you can do the bravo's that way. You would be suprised how good of a job you can do with them on the boat if you take your time and tape up well.

I do Audio stuff for a living. I have not used the Kenwoord Audio Keg. I have had mixed results with Kenwood however. Sony makes a similiar device however and I am sure you will see more and more as time goes on.
