Default stainless marine manifolds

I just got stainless marine manifolds with standard risers for a SBC. it has 2 fittings at the bottom of the manifold. should those just be linked together with one hose?

One gets plugged (closer to thermostat) and the other gets water from your thermostat housing. Water then exits at the forward fitting onto into the riser. This will make sure that water flows evenly through the manifold.
