What year did the structural grid start?
Can anyone tell me the year that Formula changed from using wooden stringers to the fiberglass structural grid system? Or does it depend on the model?
Thanks, B. |
I think in 1997 the first year of the fastech

Ah yes that makes sense. I was thinking that they went to the grid before the FasTech but I it makes sense that they happened at the same time.

I’m almost positive it was 1998. Jeff Wurl |
formula can have more issues on top of. Rotted transoms and or air voids in the transom. Fastechs I have seen this especially.
and the top cap to hull joint is one of the worst install / quality https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...be7551342d.jpg for a large named boat companies. Water leaks |
2000 s year models I have fixed many of these

Next was clean off excess bonding sealant on the exposed hull, then make nice straight lines and clean up. Next reinstall rub rail and SS insert.
DONE and no more seperation hull to deck and no more water leaks. The water leaks thru the hull to deck seperation was bad. . After the repair --- still to this day never had one come back yet |
