353 engine hatch weight
I need to remove the hatch, anybody know how much it weighs? Boats on the trailer and I was hoping to remove on the driveway. Maybe remove pad first to lighten. |
Remove the pads its actually kinda light....100 lbs give or take....We took ours off last year but honestly do not remember how heavy.. get some buddies and beers...you guys will be fine...

I would say the hatch on my 271 fastech should be around the same weight . It is around 150-200 lbs but the problem is lifting it over your head to remove and install while it is sitting on the trailer. I had 4 guys and it is no problem. If you have a hoist to remove the engines , just use the same hoist and straps to remove the hatch. Jeff Wurl |

It wasn’t bad. Removed pads, my wife and I did it. Just a little awkward. |
