Its been almost a year since my post that started this thread. The eagle has landed. I guess I should say Thunderbird has landed or Osprey (which are plentiful here) or Heron (who seems to own my dock, see attached)

Very nice! I'm currently in the market for a 311 but having a hard time finding one. Currently I have a very clean 272 (320efi/AlphaSS package) that I'm going to have a hard time parting with but looking to go a bit bigger. where did you find it?

Okay, maybe its the salt water, light chop, cooler air (in the 70s) but the F311 "flew" on the intracoastal waterway (Grande Lagoon, Pensacola) at a GPS'd 77-78 mph without any real trim work or fine tuning. :-)
This is with the "more efficient cruise but slower" 28P, 4-blade Bravo props, 3/4 fuel, two people, 5,100rpms |
