Not a professional, but understand the best case is lining the bunks up under the stringers, which are often above the lifting strakes in the hull. Now it is hard to position the boat on horizontal bunks, so best compromise is angled bunks to match the hull deadrise, right near the lifting strakes.
Another option is to lift at the transom and along the keel forward of mid-line, basically a tripod approach. No matter which approach you use, I think you want to support the transom with the bunks, not have it hanging over the back of them. |

Without stepping on your contractor’s toes, I would suggest comparing features and pricing with a Deco lift of the same capacity. Their stuff is really good and all parts are stainless or aluminum. I like them because they set up very easily but they are a little more money usually.Good luck with the new place. |
