Default More 1987 242ls questions

First, I want to say Thank You to everyone who posted replies to my questions about Formula Boats. We finally are Formula owners! We recently purchased a 1987 242ls, 7.4 liter V8. The boat has been well cared for and we are now enjoying rides on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.
Just a couple of questions...Where is the water tank located? The boat has a six gallon tank and we can't locate the tank.
Does anyone have the V-belt numbers for the V-Belts?
Again, thanks to all the people who replied!

The water tank is under the cushions in the forward cabin, it is a plastic jug with a hose coming from the top.. Being a 1987 I believe you have the Alpha drive so your belts may be different from many (with Bravo drives).
Try reaching out to MASI242LS here on the forum, he has the 7.4/Alpha setup and I bet he knows the belt numbers.
Welcome to formula and congratulations on the acquisition

If your motor serial number is within range, the ALT belt (item 25) is 47 inches

Power steering belt (item 9) shows 50 or 55 inches depending on size of pulley's

Should be able to measure to figure it out

I had to look up your lake. Looks like a beautiful place to boat. Welcome to the 242 crew.

I have to warn you. There are a few of us that may or may not be normal. But welcome to the 242 group.
