370SS cockpit trash bin lid
In the 370SS cockpit is a wetbar where we'll find 3 Corian countertop lids. Two of those lids have a gas shock to hold them up. The third is an in-counter trash bin located in the middle. More often than not, I'd like to have something installed to hold the lid up.
Has anyone tried to install a gas shock for the trash bin lid? I don't know if there wasn't enough room to install a gas shock, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it, or if there is another solution I've over looked. Using the spare bimini fitting on the radar arch, afratki was able to install a tab to catch and hold the lid while it's vertical, but it won't work on mine because the bimini fitting is not close enough to do the same on my boat. Has anyone tried a small hatch spring maybe? Looking for some ideas. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4326c80e64.jpg |

Use a counter-sink bit so the screws on the outside sit flush to the Corian.
