240BR for water sports

Does anyone have any feedback on the 240 bowrider? Wife and I have watched every youtube video on these and still have some questions. We have 3 kids under the age of 10 and they are wanting to start skiing and wakeboarding. We will keep our 311 so this would be a second boat in our fleet. Is it necessary to get a big block? Or would a 350 mag suffice? Thanks all for any input.

Big block is up to you but some things to think about. Bbc will burn less fuel towing, turn lower rpms, sound quieter from lower decibels and last longer.

There are so few of these boats out there we may be stuck getting whatever is available. Wife is dead set on another Formula and I don't blame her, seems like the 240br has it all.

Yes the 240BR is great for all around uses. The stability of the big block engine is a night and day difference in a water experience. I know the bbc's are hard to find because they get snapped up fast when they come around. I called on one the day it was listed and missed it by three hours. Good luck

We started looking for 232's first, great boats. Once she saw the 240 with the walk through transom she was hooked! We actually made an offer on a 240br in Florida but it needs a lot of work and I don't believe the seller sees it that way. Hopefully something pops up this winter.

A dealer that I talk with said they never buy out of Florida or Texas because people there use them up like a car and when they get rid of them there is little left of value. I bought one out of Florida ... can't argue his position.

Just noticed a yellow 240br on the market yesterday in Minnesota with a big block 496 non ho. By the time I called it was already gone... and it was priced right I hope it went for full asking price it was worth it.
