Windshield supports

Formula makes a great boat, but leave a little to be desired when it comes to bow access. I have a 1997 232LS. I have to step over the windshield to get to the bow. Has anyone installed support bars from windshield to dash? I tried to contact "Taylor made" windshield, but no responce. I'm looking to find out how much leeway I have in the windshield frame to drill for super small screws to mount supports. Anything to stop that "flexing". Thanks!!!

My 400SS has 2 struts supporting the main structure. The glass frame is certainly beefy enough to attach to. The really bad thing is to drill into and break the glass. I think its tempered and crazy expensive,,,,,,

I went through this a few years ago after taking one over the bow and blowing out the windshield on my 353 on Lake Erie. The frame flexed, causing the glass to shatter. I'm not the only one that this has happened to.

No help from Formula, no help from Taylor made. I looked into custom fabrication, but the issue is that because of the dash design and the angle of the windshield, there is no way to mount a strut high enough on the frame to make a difference. I gave up after that.

I'm not familiar with your dash layout, but you may have the same issue. Regardless, please post up anything that you learn. Good luck.
