I have an ‘08 292 with 6.2’s. I currently have Legends Performance Marine in Spokane installing an IMCO steering system. Chad is great, and it is hard to find an outfit that speaks go fasters in the PNW. It was worth the 270 mile tow to his operation. So during the conversation, I casually asked what the best upgrade would be for the money spent, superchargers, well okay then. And of course would require a change of props. I don’t doubt it would be a great add on, I was wondering if anyone has invested in this upgrade on this engine?

Adding HP is easier money spent. Bravo drives on the other hand.... To keep it reliable you’d have to beef up the drives as well, unless they’re XRs already.

Almost doubling the boats power would make it a different boat altogether. I think I’ve heard only once that someone wanted to reduce HP. You should do some research on how the 292 hull is like over 75, I honestly don’t know. I say go for it but you have to be ready for the “extras”

Cool beans. I'm installing the IMCO uni mount on my 292 as well. Hopefully fixes the horrible steering I've had.

Does the 6.2 have forged pistons? I don’t think I’d want to chance it with cast pistons if that’s what they come with. I’d research the engine internals a little more first.

I do not know these engines so take my words as just being scholarly advice.

There are a few 292s out there whippled or with LSX power Dan Stardohls whippled ls 292 makes 750 per side and runs into the 100+mark. 6.2s run mid 80s with low boost.

They are cast pistons.

've upgraded a 6.2 boat before and my advice would be to buy the boat you want. It's a lot of effort and time to still not compare to a big block boat. It sounds exciting and all of us being gear heads can see the appeal. I doubt you'll be amazed with the finished product though.
