Thanks so very much for your reply and suggestions. With the 21 SS the 454 according to the boat tach tops out at around 4100 RPM. I am leaning toward the 19 prop. There have been several posts suggesting the Revolution Prop would be a good purchase. I'm wondering if any other manufacturers may be a little less expensive than the Revolution series? Being new to the I/O world what role does the diameter play in prop selection. Thanks for the suggestion on the drive shower and Amsoil gear lube. I just think the 242 would be a little quicker getting on plane.
My many thanks again for the information.
We are planning a two day trip this week to the "Big Lake" Hopefully you are still enjoying the Big Lake. Currently, out boat is in valet storage with Paugus Bay Marina..

That was with a 1.5 gear set. Boat ran in the mid-80s and with more RPM than I was comfortable running it. Too much engine for the boat honestly. I had a labbed 28 Bravo to go on it but I didn't get a chance to try it. I sold the boat when I got my 311.

I still have the 28 Bravo if anyone is looking for one.
