Headliner removal
 

Hi Folks,
Time to do the headliner in my 271.

Any one have any links or tips for the process of removing the panels.
Looks a bit challenging.

Mine is a 1995 SR1, 271.

Are there panels for this year, I did a bit of searching and the foam my be glued to the deck underside.

Jeez folks,,, no info.

I tried Formula contact email and it looped and never posted.

I have only done a 382. Prepare for a mess of gooey black crap that is a nightmare to work in. The 382 had panels, not sure on the 271. Check the material glued to bulkheads in the cabin. It usually falls down after the headliner and then you get to go through the black goo again. If it has panels you will have to remove pretty much every piece of upholstery and trim to get them out. Remove all cushions and anything else you don't want covered in goo. I've done a couple and they are not a good time. Winter project for sure.

What do you mean by black goo, the foam?
What years were the boats you have done.

Doesn't sound like fun.

The boats I have done were late 90's-early 2000's. I've been told later years are similar. The black goo is the adhesive that reacted with the foam to create a nasty mess. It's like very sticky grease.
