In Search of 353 Fastech 07 and newer with 525 EFI
I am currently in the process of looking for a new boat. My 2003 292 Fastech lasted me a good 7ish years, the starboard side motor hydrolocked a few weeks ago with 692 hours. I have surveyed one 06 353 Fastech that has 300 hours although is in need of cosmetic work (the price reflects that). If anyone knows of a 353 Fastech with low hours w/525 preferably with extension boxes that would be amazing. I am located in CT and Southern FL.

Where's the 292..? ;)
I just put 2 new (base) engines in mine 2 years ago and new IMCO steering last fall. (In my 2001 292, with 350s). Only 2 seasons on it, and have 198 hours on them :) 90% at 42 MPH. Buy broken boat, fix up, profit? I get bored easily in the winter, here in PA. |
Its already sold, Ive been looking for a 353 or 382 on and off for a few years now, good excuse to upgrade lol

My 353 with 500's and no boxes ran 78.9 on limiters. With labbed props there is no doubt it would run 80+ A 353 with boxes and 525's will do 85 with little effort.
|
That's bookin'. My 292 with 350s hits 67.1 MPH GPS... I'd like to go faster, but last time I opened my wallet moths flew out :-p

While on this topic….anyone happen to have some 30p Bravos for sale? I can’t find any anywhere. Trying to get some more rpm and finding props has been a hoe

Call them up with cash and order one. According to him, (he shows a glimpse of one in the plant) they will if you have a sizable deposit. |
My next boat gets outboards. I'm only 39 and I'm DONE digging around in a bilge. It's damn pretty boat, but doing all my own work means. NO thanks to inboards. When you can slap 600 HP twin speed dual props to the azz end of a barge and do 90... good 'nuff. The FasTech's just lost out to modern boats. Sad... cuz... I have a FasTech lol.
I toured the Formula Factory when I was 15. It's next level that's for sure. |
Why is it so hard to beleive a 353 with 525’s can do mid 80’s? Shoot a longer heavier 38 ts top gun can do mid 80’s with the same power…am I missing something? The 35zr’s with 525’s will run mid 80’s all day long. Likely upper 80’s.
To the OP, good luck in your search. what part of CT are you in? |

The ad is pretty clear. But you already know all this. You just don't know how a 353 with 525's and boxes runs. Please go find someone foolish enough to let you drive their's, and then get back to us on speed. Actually, have someone that owns one take you for a ride and you can use whatever GPS you want to see the speed. Then maybe you'll stop posting this silly comments. |
