Then we filled the cracks and holes preparing for finishing.

The upper holes can be used for tow mounts. Great position. Just saying.

Coat the wooden openings for the exhaust with resin to keep out any water intrusion into the transom wood.
I would also fill in the exhaust mounting holes, 3 ea. as your new tips (assuming you are going to replace with nice ones) will most likely have 4 holes.

I gotcha, I did think about that and other possibilities to keep them, but decided to have our “bird” a bit different and clean the back up.

Didn’t get to those pics yet, but we did coat the insides of exhaust holes. We did not fill the exhaust holes, but my new Corsa tips are 3 hole, however they are not in same location, but will be covered by the flanges.

After we filled all the cracks/holes and sanded, we applied first coat of heavy primer (this one rolled on). When primer was fully cured, we again filled all imperfections and sanded again preparing us for the spraying process.

Now on to the fun part results wise.

We sprayed the white primer for easier coverage for the paint and then the white paint.

Now for the details.

We painted the blue at the top again where the name (in white);will go again. We also added the stripe up to the drive......how many of these ole birds have that?

We also painted the top black stripe in same place and added it to carry the lower stripe all the way as well.
