Engine oil leak 87 242ls magnum V8
Hi everyone,
I recently noticed engine oil leaking into the bilge. I don't think it is a major leak because the oil pressure reads consistently around 60 psi. Any suggestions or comments on the problem? It's the end of the season in the northeast, so my plan is to clean up the spill and place some absorbent pads in the bilge and run it one more time before I put the boat to sleep for the winter. As always any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Tony S |

You can put dye in the oil to make leak easier to see. Napa snd other part stores carry it.
Leaks don’t normally cause oil psi loss unless something big like oil filter or oil line not on. |
Use a mirror and flashlight to inspect the oil pan for corrosion, check oil pan drain plug for tightness, oil cooler lines as mentioned previously. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the oil pressure sender was cracked, it would only leak after a hard push on the loud stick while underway so check that out too.
