1988 242LS Dash Switch lights
The dash switches themselves have lights in them that are always on. Only way to kill them is with the battery switch. Does anyone know which of those many wires under the dash powers these particular switch lights? What color is the wire? Thanks

If the switches all work properly but the lights stay on all the time id say they are wired wrong.

Those are all circuit breakers if they’re original. ETA aircraft breakers. Sounds like your breakers are stuck in the on position.
The breakers are good, but the problem with them is that the plastic that makes up the rocker switch covers becomes brittle and no longer engages. The rub here is that the breakers are all grouped together in a single plastic housing - there’s no fix for this. Many of us have removed the breakers and converted to traditional switches tied to fuse panel. If the switches feel soft or flimsy, or feel like they can’t quite switch direction and hold, then the plastic is probably done. The only way to really tell is to undo the panel and take a look. |
Turns out two have been replaced and those are the one still lighted so it is the switch itself. So Looking for originals if anyone knows a source...Thks

These were the exact correct switches if anybody needs them. I ordered 2 and they were dead on copies of the originals in a 1988 242LS. |

What was the cost for 2 switches and what was the shipping charges. Also total charged to your credit card.
US dollars please. Thank you. Gary |
About $50 for two shipped. The only difference is the diameter of the black threads that extend thru the dash. Tiny bit larger. Fits thru hole still but collar will not screw on.

Did they come with new collar nuts that worked? Or were the collars too short to fit through dash completely?
How did you overcome problem? |
