Average Retail/ 1994 F-232LS

Anyone know the average retail price for a 1994 Formula 232 LS? Boat is clean with just 210 Hrs.

Power - 454/300
Drive - BIII

Would like to move up to a 26', trying to get a handle on what to ask for my Formula.

You could try www.nadaguides.com

They list Formula's under Thunderbird/Formula looks like about $21K average retail.

Nadaguides tend to be a little low , from what I've seen and heard.
When I was looking for my 272 , the only ones priced at or under nada were real $hitters:rolleyes:
Nice ones were over "high" retail:( . Bad for me...I was buying , good for...you're selling:D

Hey mopower good to know that.

mopower 01-31-2003 03:44 PM

Familyman,
I forgot...one reason NADA prices may be low is the fact they do NOT include a trailer.
I paid 36G's for mine when nada high retail was 35 but I also a got a newer aluminum I beam trailer and the boat had all the toys , including AIR ,and was near "mint" condition. It also ended a 9 month seach from NH to VA
Funny story though...The previous owner was really anal about the care of the boat...good thing , right? Even on the test ride I was instructed to drop the tabs and drives and EASE up on the throttles because he didn't like putting too much strain on anything:confused: He also emphisized his NEW engine couplers:confused:
WELL , two weeks later I break an engine coupler:hothead: After replacing it I checked engine alignment. The front was 2" low:eek: . When done I looked at the other engine and you guessed it...2" low:crazy:
This guy must have been having repeated coupler problems and didn't kow why. So figured he'd dump it on some other sucker:drool: . Glad I have a little knowledge:D

Three seasons and about 180 hours later...no coupler problems:p

MoPower, are you coming to the Richmond OSO party?

mopower 01-31-2003 10:03 PM

FM,
I found my boat in Chester VA , right outside of Richmond. I left home at 6am and got there (Chester) at 11:05 and I was hauling a$$.
Left Chester around 1:30 never got home till near 8pm. Not enough tongue weight:crazy:
Well , to make a long story short...no. I think it's a bit far.

Thanks anyway:D

I live in Chester what boat did you buy and from whom?

Hope to see ya at JellyFish Joel's? What would I be looking for any pictures?

mopower 01-31-2003 10:45 PM

FM,
The boat belonged to Joe Catrona. Claimed he was going thru a divorse:rolleyes:  . Had to sell it.Wife's name was Wendy:drool: Cute.
This was June of 2000. Anyway it's a 1989 272 SR1. White with black , teal and magenta graphics.
Currently have the dash ripped apart for new white panels and white guages and a pair of 540's going in , in the spring.
Lotta work , but cheaper than a new one.
Last time I was a JFJ's was near the end of September. Left there 730pm (sunset) had a twenty mile ride back up the bay to where we were staying and the starboard engine died:eek: I was figuring on a quick 60 mph ride back before dark, ha ha. The wind had died and the water was like glass and about 20 mins. of daylight left.
Two hours later ( 9:30) we got back to Buttonwood Beach. ( between the Bohemia and Sassafrass rivers. Learned how to navigate the Chesi. at night.

Mopower,

540's in a 272!!! Holy Bat Sh*%

You make to JellyFish Joel's Memorial Weekend and give me a ride, I'm buying.

A friend has 540's (no blowers) in a '89 Fountain 38 and he's at 80mph, and that's obviously a heavy boat.

I had a similiar experience to yours coming from Solomon's Isand to South River last August when I lost the port engine and had to run 1 engine for about 3 1/2 hours when it was 100 degrees, Stucking HOT! End up being water in the gas tank. The port side engine in the 280SS has a lower gas pickup so it was effected while the other engine wasn't, so I was told.
