New Formula owner

Hi All, I just wanted to say hello to all the Formula boaters out there. Having just moved up to a 292 Fastech from a 22ft Crownline. Leslie and I boat mostly in the upper Chesapeake bay, and sometimes we tow to lake Raystown.

We bought the boat at the Annapolis boat show, and had to pick it up in late November, so we didn't get to run it much before putting it away for the winter. What little we did run it, we love it. What a fantastic boat!

We're looking forward to expanding our boating range, and also looking forward to meeting other Formula owners out there.

Nice boat, what power does it have? Welcome to the board.

Live Wire II 02-14-2003 10:48 AM

It has the twin 6.2 set up, which I was really impressed with.

Welcome Live Wire!

We also boat on the Upper Ches. Bay and have been to Raystown! We have a 1994 303SR1 "TENACIOUS".

Where do you put in at the Ches. bay? We may try the new ramp in Rock Hall this year. We also frequent the Delaware river around Philly. Hope to see you this year. :D

Congrats on your new boat! Welcome to the Formula family.

LIVE WIRE II Welcome Aboard!
Hope you find OSO as great source of information like I have.
Give us some numbers on performance, and "GOODIES" on the boat.
Remember, help is just a click away

Hi All
Thank you so much, it sounds like Formula boaters are very nice people. I hope Leslie and I can meet a few of you this summer, if it ever gets here.

When we picked the boat up we spent the weekend on the upper end of the bay before we had to put it away for the winter, but here are a few cold water numbers: at 3/4 throttle I ran out of prop and was up against the rev limeter. Before I had to back off we hit 72-74 gps. These are cold water numbers, which I'm sure will change this summer in the heat.

We put in at Anchor marine, North East. Nice ramp, and far enough back into the no wake that the water is calm all the time.
"Tenacious" We'd like to run up the Delaware river, so maybe we could hook up some time.

Look for us in the same area. We are out of Tome's Landing Marina in Port Deposit: all-white 382 Formula. Great boating area, and great choice of boats!

Congratulations! We just got back from the Miami Boat Show, and I fell in love with the 292. I kind of had my heart set on a 312, but after being on a 292 in person, I think it would suit me fine. I also like the idea of the speeds with the SBC's when I think about the care and feeding of the twin BB's. Everyone says the 312 with 6.2's is underpowered.

If you don't mind, I'd like to know the deal you got on the 292. You can instant message it if you like.

Hey Live Wire,
Nice boat man!! Hope it works out well for you. I have an older one than you ('89 311) but I still love it. It still looks nice and the "uninformed" think its new. The point here is,,,,,,keep your boat nice and it will look good for years. I'd like to get a new one but for now I'll be runnning the "vintage" stuff.

Check the whole site out man, you're lurking amongst some serious offshore dudes here (not me:cool: ) These guys can answer any question that you might have. Really cool bunch here.

Look forward to hearing about all of your adventures.:D :D

Hi all,
I too just purchased a new 292 leftover. I'm in PA about 75 miles from Raystown so if you're coming this way, let me know. We can hookup. Unfortunately, I haven't run mine yet a i just purchased it. In fact, I'm picking it up the end of March - can't wait!!!! Anyone interested, I check all over the net before I bought and there is a very nice 292 leftover at Trenton Marine in NJ. Has the large FORMULA graphic on the side. See you all on the pond! Rick
