I'm stepping up from a 242 to a 302. Six feet doesn't sound like that much bigger a boat, but is is a LOT bigger boat than my 242. After looking at the 302 on the trailer, when I got home, my 242 looked like a dingy. I just hope it's not too much boat for me. If I have to work my ass off to get it on and off the trailer, or trouble getting it into slips, I'll end up not taking it out as much as we do the 242. I hope I'm making the right choice.

You will love the size, I went from a 27 pachaga to the 357 you just have to get use to the nose. Good luck with the new boat and it does great.

one tip. don't sink the trailer too deep. let the bunks guide that heavy transom into place on thier own as you crank up the bow. easy for a 1 person job. then you won't have that embarrassing drive out/drive in/ driveout/ drive in to get the boat to sit level;)

Can't say about a trailer but my 40' F-402 is easier to dock and put on the lift than my Z-29 Donzi was. Now ... don't you want to go BIGGER <LOL>

We have a 1989 357, We moved up from a 272. The boat has twin 420 w/ TRS drives, does upper 50's low 60's at best. Its a heavy boat that you will love when Lake Michigan kicks up.
No matter how big you go it will never be "Big Enough". Not thinking of selling just need bigger motors.

Hey Preferredstock, did you buy your boat from Tinus Marine? That's where I picked up my F206 in 1987. They were a great dealer. Then Formula had a "better" dealer idea! I don't even know how many dealers have been on the Formula merry go round since then. Hey- Ram Listen to greg on the bigger boats. you guys all look to the 4 footitis, 5footitis, 7 footitis. Heck, I went 20 footitis! and kept the 206 for a spare. (needed it) The 402 is so big I decided to sell the house and live on it :) I want to find a 125' sunseeker and use the Formula's as tenders! RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! That 357 Kamma in Missisippi sounds like it might be nice. When I was looking, I was flying all over the place cheap. Midwest Express, Southwest, etc. all had decent fares and then you rent a chevette or something and it won't cost much. When I bought my 402, airfare from Milwaukee to Philadelphia was $129 round trip. I rented a cavalier for 19.95 and the seller Joe was kind enough to buy me lunch on the other end. Wildthings 357 is sweet too. JUST DO IT!

I am anxiously waiting for doc's "sales video" on his 357 with kaamas. I was hoping it was in the mail when i returned for vacation.

he even checked on airfair for me:D

Guys...sorry for the video delay. On the days I was off, the weather was too. I'm making a VHS this week and will send it to any who want it. I'm also putting some video on the net.
