If you're going to replace the boots, it's easiest just to cut them off. They aren't cheap though. |

BTW, what did the boots cost you? I got a new set given to me when I bought the boat. |
DAM CUDA I DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLEY BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WERE IN THE HUNDREDS LIKE THREE!!! THAT IS PROABLEY PRETTY CLOSE AND THEY CAME OUT OF CALIFORNIA IF I REMEMBER RIGHT
|
BYE THE WAY CUDA I CALLED ARCHER MARINE AND THE GUY TOLD ME THAT SOME GUY NAMED DAN WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT NEW ABOUT KAMA STUFF AND HE WOULD BE BACK IN ABOUT AN HOUR. HE ALSO SAID HE THOUGHT THE U JOINTS WOULD BE NO PROBLEM
|
I think the guy I bought my boat from told me the boots were $600 a pair, so you are probably right on.
|
Phil....... Think the guy you might want at Team Archer is Gary. He used to work for KAAMA when they were around.
Also, for future reference. The rams are real easy, should you ever need to rebuild them. They just twist apart, and the seals are very standard. (cost is about $20 max for the seals). Bob |
Kaamacat, tell us about your boat. I'm always interested in any with Kamma drives.
|
Hey boys, the gears are made by Casale engineering, the quick change v-drive boys. Paul

Cuda.........For starters, if thats the 302 from another OSO member in your area, that is one beautiful boat. (He sent me lots of pics last year).
As for mine. In 86-85 when Excalibur merged with Wellcraft, they brought those models over. (you know the 40'Hawk, 42'Eagle, one other, and mine was the 30' Excalibur Cat).......If you opt'ed for the KAAMA package it came with the drives and the KAAMA engines which were built by either Hardin or Innovation. (450hp I believe). Its got a 9'6+" beam.......weighs alot, but a great ride. Does 89mph max. (all-in-all not bad). Take a while to get on plane, and I'm still getting used to the surface drives (let alone a cat). My boat is totally original, with about 110hrs. Even the paint scheme is original if you had an old BOATING mag where they used to advertise on the last page. (check out my homepage for a better pic). GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS!..................Bob |
KAMACAT THANKS FOR THE INFO, I AM GOING TO GO UP THIER IN A LITTLE BIT AND WORK ON THE BOAT. I EXPECT TO BE DONE IN ABOUT 30 DAYS IT SHOULD BE WET!!! COME ON !!!!!!!
