Oil Pressure Gage

MY OIL PRESSURE LITE FLICKERS WHEN THE OIL PRESSURE SEEMS TO BE OK, IS THIS LIKELY TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE GAGE,OR SHOULD I BE CONCERNED WITH SOMETHING ELSE? 292 W/ 6.2'S

Is the light part of the gauge??
And you say the gauge reads right?
If both are true, replace the gauge.
If the light, by itself, has a seperate sender, replace the sender.

When do you see the light come on?
Is it only at idle? Or when running at speed?

The light is in the gauge and it's come on at idle, and while running. it does seem to be intermitent

Are these the Gaffrig Red lines? If so then test the sender, and ground.

Bustnout,
I had the same concern with my 02 292 at initial startup you should have app. 40lb. After a run coming back to idle my (Idiot Lite) would flicker also and read lower pressure.Just as your temp will rise! Take it back to 1500 rpm for a few seconds and it is gone.I have asked several different dealerships their oppinion and have got the same response that is characteristic of the 6.2.I also ask about running straight 40 wt. and all said
no. I just keep up on checking oil and am glad to have my extended warranty!
