The complete 353 thread
I don't think this has been done yet and I think it would be interesting to anyone doing research, I'm starting a thread for each model boat. I'm hoping they will be the complete "guide" to each model. What I'd like to see in it is hard facts about this model only,(length, beam, available power, years produced, numbers produced, colors, pictures, weights, pricing for different years.)
I'd like to keep out the shopping questions. But feel free to put in comments about likes and dislikes, common problems, and results with different power packages. As time permits, I'll troll through old posts and add info collected through the years. If I didn't start a thread for a model you want to see, start one up with the right subject name. Thanks in advance, Dave |

2002...425's/Bravo X. 74 mph on Gaffrig. Awesome ride quality. Options are 10 disc CD/multi amp stereo, VHF radio, docking lights, Vaccuflush head, pressure water/transom shower, bimini top and enclosure, mooring cover and Eagle trailer. '02 retail boat and trailer ~ $223,000. I just bought it new (never wet) 2 weeks ago for significantly less than that! ;) :D :D
|
Shwing! ;) :D
|
Troutly, you sure have! :D Thanks again for the tip on this boat. As you know...I got a hell of a price for a brand new boat with these options and trailer. I've only got a few hours on it as the weather has been dumpy since I've been on vacation. It sure does work well though... super soft, level ride! :)
|
Troutly's old 353 will be going to Chicago in a couple of hours. Probrably the cleanest 2000 trade-in I have ever seen. New owner bought sight unseen and no test drive because after talking to Troutly he knows the boat is flawless. The boat business is fun when you deal with good people and good products and a high level of trust on both sides.

Rippem;
Looks great Randy ... How does Mark like it? Great buy Bill |
He loves it....... He'll get over it. Hey, if he had that kind of higher end product, for a fair or better price...I would have bought six boats in a row from him. ;) no problem.

Here is another think she would have noticed?
|
Saw a 292 with that graphic in a Trenton ad I think...flying...a pic I hadn't seen before even tho it must be a Formula promo pic. That particular graphic in the 29 "scale" looked pretty damn good. She wouldn't notice 'till you two cleaned it...or put fuel in it! :D
|
She never cleans the boat only the house That is my Gig and I fuel all the toys.Actually it was a total marine purchase and 100 hrs since new and looking for bigger.By the way you could not get better service than I have had. And I am getting 74 GPS so I will Look for Bigger power than 500's Because I need to be well into 80"s to justify the money. but that is still one awesome comfortable ass kicking boat. And They always get looks and good comments.Again good luck. Why don't You bring it to rock the bay poker run sept.19 to 21 extend the season mid 80's there I will be there nice to see a couple more formulas to run with( northeast MD)
|
I had given the rock the bay run some thought in the interest of "extending the season". I'll do some more research on the run. Do you know the area?
|
It has been a long while but used to vacation there !
I do know big areas of water, lots of place to eat and boat and change of scenery! + normal temp 80's for sept. |

Nice rides above. In April, I purchased this new 353 from Magicfloat. Awesome boat, 500's no boxes. GPS @ 82.

Thanks folks. I had a choice between an 02 353 with the electrode paint job and the flame boat that I purchased. Both had 500's, but the electrode had stellings boxes. I wanted the boxes and the wife wanted the flame job. You can see how that discussion went. However, I have no complaints about the performance without boxes.
