exhaust

Hey Blake,

There big tube stellings with gaffrig cut-out mufflers.
Their not cheap the stellings are approx. $7500 per
engine, the gaffrigs about $1500 a pair. Their hooked
up to a pair of 572cubic in. tall deck chevys with merlin
steel head, 1050 dom. racing carbs , msd ign. lath.
hyd. steering, speedmaster #3 drives with cleaver
props. On a good day she'll run in the low 80s. in 3ft. waves. Its usually rough on lake erie but thats what
formulas are made for. I have approx 90 hrs. on the
motors an have had no problems. Engine builders
said to run 20w50 severe use racing oil , change every
25 hrs. so thats what I do, seems to work. I love the
boat , motors & exhaust. sorry to be so long winded.

Wow! That's some serious hardware in that bird. How much hp do you think you're making?

Hi-Tech Marine 02-22-2004 07:49 PM

RICK G ..... Nice 302 !!!!

THIRDBIRD is that swim platform factory?

bobbarker 02-22-2004 07:57 PM

hp.

hey cuda,
I'd be guessing but I'll say between 650-700hp. They never been dynoed. I'am running the huge
liquid harmonic balancers so the motors run smooth,
can't really tell their running big cams. they do gulp
fuel but what the hell we all need some vice.

cudas bird

Hey Cuda,

Thats one fine lookin bird, didn't think I'd like the
color but it looks great on a formula. Tell us something
about it. Glad to see you're pullin with a ford, thats
where I work, 37 years, last year for me then I can
put a lot of hours on my old bird.

familyman 02-23-2004 05:12 AM

Wow!, Cuda really let me slide not even a warning and I thought I was going to get something started. The SS is a performance boat wantabe, but it's really a compromise for the wife and kids. But then again all boats are a compromise aren't they.

I like the truck Cuda, I've also got a F250 PSD Lariant with the crew cab and really like it.

Man, it's nice in the shade, isn't it?....

Formula Outlaw 02-23-2004 10:38 PM

Cuda has an "anchor shade", which is not technically a bimini......  I run mine when I'm doing a tow/patrol at a race, just too hot in Florida when your idling all the time. Otherwise I convienently forget to mount it.
