Eagle Trailer

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys ...My 331 ( yet to be shipped ..Damn snow) has a 2000 Eagle trailer that is pretty much mint. We live on the water and the 311 will be on a lift in a boat house ...It kills me to see that trailer sitting out in the open waisting away .....Not sure what to do about that . Are Eagles spec made for a particular boat ? So it would only fit another 311 without mods ? Any clues on what it might be worth ? ....

RedDog382 03-20-2004 06:02 PM

The Eagle trailer I bought for my 311 in 1992 sold new for $7400. Probably would be worth 3-4.5K now. They are custom fit to these boats, but might fit another similar length straight hull. You might want to consider keeping it for winter storage and/or problems requiring the boat to be transported. I do know someone who might also be interested in trading you some cash and a aluminum open channel storage trailer for your Eagle. I'll try getting ahold of him tonight.

Forget the winter storage ... I just noticed where you live!:D

Call me @ 419-882-1680 tomarrow if you would be interested in making a deal with him.

BTW ... I don't recall from your previous posts where you said the boat is coming from, but if this trailer has not been in salt water before, DO NOT dip it in salt H2O if you can avoid it. I've heard that most steel trailer manufacturers including Eagle will void the warranty if it ever goes into salt, even once. You can determine that pretty easily, too. FYI.

Eagle

the trailer is built to the boat. Best bet is to trade for a quality aluminum trailer. Who knows .... you may want to do a poker run.

I agree ...do not put it in salt. If you get it down to Jax.. have the boat sling launched.

If you sell it in the north or MidWest... we can take it up with one of our loads for you - No Charge.... just get it to Panama City and have the buyer on the other end meet us when unstacking.

Boy am I glad I asked ...boat should be here in a week or so ...waiting on about 48 hours of clear weather in Michigan .... we live on a lake that feeds into St Johns River ....and then its about 30 miles to the Ocean ..But the water is considered Brackish ...I know I have Barnicles on my dock Pilings ...... And Shrimp at the inlet to the Lake ( about 5 miles from my dock) .....The Surveyor told the trailer was worth about 10K .. I was told it was made by eagle for the original owner of the 311 who is a dealer and they put alot of good stuff on it .....

offthefront 10,000 new about 4000 to 5000 used. Try to find a trade for a alum. you can't go wrong having a trailer for the boat, even if you do't use it.

Propwash did you find a boat?

Hi-Tech,
You're saying I can get a trailer like the one under your Fountain that will fit a Formula 311, come with brakes and mags for $4,200.00??????

If so, I may be interested. I take it you're a dealer.

Mike,

I mentioned it to him ... I think he's wanting to move up to a 353 so does't want to sink much $$$ into the 311. He has OSO access and was going to check out the thread ... if he hasn't contacted you yet, I would consider/pursue other offers. I'll let you know if something changes. Thanks for your consideration.

Chris

Not a problem ....

Hi-Tech Marine 03-24-2004 06:51 AM

Trailer

Thirdbird, yes ..... with brakes, alunimum wheels, 7 1/2" beam instead of the 6 1/2" usually found, stainless, aluminum/stainless bunk and fender mounting, etc. ........and we just started polishing to a mirror finish(slightly more). We are a manufacturer.

The first ALLISON mirrror polish trailer will be out in about 2 weeks. we have the process down to a point where it is not so labor intensive (reduced cost) and it provides a protection to the aluminum making it easier to maintain the finish. Each trailer is treated like it is going under my personal boat.

Note: There will be an announcement with this trailer unveiling that is exciting.

Hint: It involves an OSO member we all know
