How much Formula 'Stuff' do you have?

I just ordered a shirt and a flag for the garage and some other tinkets. My god are they proud of their logo! $60 for the shirt! My OSO polo was $25. I think the Formula door mat if a little too much.

How much 'stuff' do you have around?

bford1 04-13-2004 12:52 PM

Yeah they are way too proud of that stuff. Here's one for you. My 357 doesn't have the Formula logo on the side. So rather than put the chrome letters I wanted to put the "Formula Racing" decal in its place. That 48" vinyl decal is $500 (each)! Ouch. looks like I'l have to do without the word Formula on the side of my boat.

Formula Outlaw 04-13-2004 01:09 PM

Take a copy of the logo to your local graphics shop and they should make you one up for around forty bucks or so each. Plus you can have it any color you want. Eventually that's what I'm going to do.

I have a Formula hat, floating key fobs, and I had a custom "Formula Outlaw" front license plate with the "Thunderbird' logo off to one side, white lettering on black background. My boat costs enough, I am not going to spend money on overpriced items. Guess I'm too cheap. :D

Formula78 04-13-2004 04:53 PM

$500 good god! I cant believe that!

My boat is missing both of the birds on the side. Does anyone know how many millions they want for those?

Formula Outlaw 04-13-2004 05:30 PM

Let's see, hmmm chromed plastic. A bike shop would charge probably ninty bucks or so, that means Formula will want, oh say around two fifty each.

Audiofn 04-13-2004 08:54 PM

Formula78: I paid 25 bucks for my chrome (plastic) birds about two years ago.

I have a HUGE dealer sign. Brand new in the crate :D:D

Would that be from Beverlyport Marina?

Audiofn 04-14-2004 08:06 AM

I aint tellin :D:D

Actually I got it from one of the guys on the board who was a dealer and used to race F2. He had the sign and I purchased that and a pair of Bolsters off him. I did not really need the sign but he made it clear that it was a package deal.

Yeah if anyone else wanted that 48" decal we could have several made probably cheaper for more.

ThirdBird 04-14-2004 11:09 AM

Coupe of hats, sweatshirt for the wife, license plate frame and a boat:D

About those T-Bird emblems discussed above, I bought one 2 years ago, like 25 bucks. I need another one now, the opposite side fell off:mad:

Must be when one falls off you should replace them both. Time sensitive adhesive or something:confused:

Agree with what you guys said above about the stuff they sell, if it were a little cheaper, I'd buy alot more. I've never really understood high priced retail. Seems to me you make more money selling lots of stuff cheap than selling a little stuff for alot:eureka:

But, what the hell do I know!!

Formula78 04-14-2004 12:16 PM

We should unleash the power of the OSO Formula forum on them. Jam their mail boxes full of e-mail telling them they are out of their mind for asking a jillion dollars for their stuff.

I think the 40pc hull model was like $3-4,000!! $460 for a ring! jeebus!

Looks like those plastic emplems are about the only reasonable thing that they sell. $25 is not bad at all. I think your right though, you better replace them both at the same time.

bford1 04-14-2004 02:06 PM

Yes, but I think $25 is for the bird only and you have to buy the "FORMULA" part separate. Right?

Formula78 04-14-2004 02:18 PM

Thats fine,.. My "FORMULA" is intact. The letters at least.

Yes indeed, you are correct. On a past 242 I owned, it said "FORM LA" when I got it. Needed a "U". Cha-ching!, Like friggin 9 bucks per letter. Glad I only needed one "U".

At least I didn't need "F" "U":D :D

formuladude312 04-14-2004 04:58 PM

A couple of hats, Keychains, drink koozies, flag, pull overs, towels and flag, only had to take out a home equity loan to buy them from formula, :D    Don't know why there stuff is so expensive, Paying to advertise for them i guess, Jeff

mopower 04-14-2004 05:34 PM

Some hats , towels , shirts and the door mat that gets put on the seat for boarding.
I too , am missing both my birds on the sides , but the way I see it , it's two less things to wax around;) .

bford1 04-15-2004 04:25 PM

It is the fishboat, although the bow rails are very similar to the one's that were on my 20SC.:(
