311 sr1 Headliner

Looks like the forward section of the headliner (forward of the "bulkhead" that separates the "lounge" from the v-birth) is coming down on the starboard side. Just one "edge" close to the centerline of the boat right at the "bulkhead"

Thoughts? Experiences? I have a big hammer, a blow-torch and a pry bar . . . : )

Thanks.

Get can of glue in a spray aerosol can. Depending where it is sagging you should be able to find somewhere around hatches or on sides to get in there. Spray it and prop it up with a board or soemthing until the glue sets up. You might have to do it section by section a little at a time. I haven't done it yet on my 357 but it sags a bit also and I know that a couple of other people who have the same problem and had success with the spray glue. Seems much easier than pulling it all down and starting from scratch.

Just for the hell of it, get a decent "hair dryer" and try heating it thoroughly (DO NOT CATCH BOAT ON FIRE, BAD BAD BAD IDEA). Sometimes heating it good will reactivate the glue and it will restick. It probably won't work but once in a great while it will.

Otherwise, follow above.

On my 89 272 I had a headliner panel sag. It was held up by long strips of velcro that were stapled to the deck and the headliner plywood. Some of the staples came out and caused the piece to sag down. Check to see if that's how it's held up.
